◈ First of all, thank you for looking at my carrd! ♥ It's still a WIP!◈ Hej, hej! Please call me Jari. I am 30+ As such, I prefer to roleplay with mature adults who are at least over 21 (25+ preferred). I am an experienced writer (9+ years including forums, WoW, and ESO).◈ It is worth noting that this is a brand new concept even for me and that Jari was born out of my love for Scandinavian mythology, Visual Kei, J ROCK, and Kent— a Swedish Alt Pop/Rock band. So he is entirely a tribute to the bands and my dear Norwegian friend who introduced them to me; he changed my life! ♥ XD◈ I will mirror your writing, though I will state that I have a deep preference for multi-para RP.◈ This goes without saying but I'm only IC when I have the Rp tag on.◈ I am looking for both long and short-term roleplay with a story-driven plot. I do not mind casual interactions if they make sense for my character as well.◈ Themes accepted: political intrigue, battle, dueling, tragedy, drama, mystery, investigation, slice of life, and slow-burn romance. (I will however add that my character is heterosexual, and finds familiarity in his own kith; he prefers female Viera. Consistency in this planisphere is an absolute must; I'm not interested in a one-and-done sort of relationship in character).◈ I will not accept permanent scarring, maiming, disfiguration, or the death of my character.◈ I'm a big fan of From Software and soulsborne games so I take the liberty to flavor my character's story in a similar fashion.◈ Open to brainstorming hooks through tells! Don't hesitate to approach!◈ I like to follow lore as much as possible, but given how little we have on the Viera, I will be willing to accept some degree of lore-bending only on this character.◈ I will openly refuse to RP anyone who claims their character is as strong as/ is the Warrior of Light. If your character concept resembles this, save your time and look elsewhere.◈ My timezone is EST but my IRL circumstances are such that I may have a very busy schedule. I ask that you respect my time if I am unable to RP with you. Hounding someone for RP doesn't leave a good impression.◈ If you are OOC beholden to values that only seem anti-humanitarian (i.e., fascist, sexist, classist, homophobic, transphobic, general bigot, or just plain gross) you'll find no kinship here.◈ I greatly dislike bleed in roleplay; please don't mix OOC sentiments with what might occur IC.◈ IC actions have IC consequences, if you cannot adhere to that, I will refrain from roleplaying with you.◈ Please understand that while my character is a casanova, he's not one to jump just anyone with a pulse. Born atop the frigid peaks of the Skatay Range, a rugged and remote region where only the hardiest of the Veena survived and where the frost-bound Viera remained isolated from the rest of Othard. Jari spent his youth honing his skills and ascend to becoming one of the deadly warders tasked with guarding the perimeter of their sacred land. He was once one of those of their number: defenders of the snowy forests and glacial heights of the Skatay. Jari had a knack for survival in the gelid desolace nestled in the misty clouds. He was one of the most notable male trackers in his tribe.Jari was known for his solitary tendencies among the Viera younglings. He preferred to spend his time alone, tracking game through the dense forests and scaling the steep cliffs of the Skatay Range. It was said that he could communicate with the wolves there, and they would often follow him on his forays.As Jari grew older, his reputation as a lone wolf only grew. He became known as "Ulvsangen," the song of the wolf, for his ability to mimic the haunting howls of the wolves he encountered. He became a feared and respected figure among his tribe, and many young Veena aspired to follow in his footsteps.Despite his reputation for being a solitary figure, the snowy Viera Warder was deeply in love with a particular woman in his tribe. She was a skilled huntress, and their paths had crossed many times over the years. Jari was drawn to her fierce independence and her ability to spar with him with effortless ease. They spent many long hours together, tracking game through the forests and sharing songs and stories by firelight. He enjoyed singing to her and she seemed to look forward to their clandestine meetings. It was abundantly clear that they made a wonderful pair, and it was also clear to them that they loved each other.However, Jari's love for this woman was not without its complications. She was promised to another Veena man, and there was little hope that Jari could ever win her hand in marriage. Despite this, he remained devoted to her, secretly hoping that one day they could be together.Jari would keep his distance, continuing to roam the Skatay Range alone, his reputation as a skilled defender and tracker growing with each passing turn. But despite his accomplishments, he never forgot his love. He continued to care for her from afar, always keeping her safety and well-being in his thoughts.Be it by a cruel twist of fate or divine intervention, the man to whom she had been promised was killed a stone's throw away from the tribe's perimeter. The woman was skilled in hunting and in tune with the Mist. But there was something awry about the magick that surrounded her just then. The elders ordered her capture but she escaped into the wilds. Jari pursued her through toward the foothills only to find himself and the woman in tow captured by Garleans.Just as Jari and his female compatriot had reunited, they were soon torn apart: Jari was sent to Ala Mhigo to make up for dwindling numbers. There, he would endure many horrors, much discrimination, and hardship, and be forced to don a gunblade to fight for the Garlean occupation against Ala Mhigo.After much discreet planning, Jari assisted Eorzean forces to stage a coup before he was sent to Doma. There, he made a name for himself by doing odd jobs and playing his unique music at obscure venues for the elite.Though he was talented, his musical persona was always meant to be a farce: acting as both a sellsword and a double agent. Jari despised his captors, but he would remain with them until he knew the whereabouts of his lost love. Skilled and intuitive, he was quick to find promising leads. Alas, those were impossible to pursue without being discharged - but to be discharged under his circumstances meant only one thing: death. This is when the erstwhile warder staged his premature demise to fight for his freedom and of those that they oppressed indiscriminately.After the Garleans were defeated, Jari stayed there to aid locals who facilitated his escape....those of not-so-noble occupation to whom he owed a great debt. He was all but shackled before he found further fame and paid off his owed sum in Gil. Fame begat infamy, and so Jari found his career in music. For a time, the Viera let fade his desire to search for her... He was afforded countless luxuries and showered with love from adoring fans and grew to become a household name. To onlookers, Jari had it all--but there was trouble brewing in paradise: no amount of Gil, beautiful women, or dalliances could erase glimpses of her face, silence her voice, or her song from memory.The clues to her whereabouts lead to dead ends. Having left no stone unturned it struck him then to write about her and sing of his time spent with her. Sing about the circumstances of their separation. Hoping that it would reach the pair of ears he so earnestly sought to recount his stories to once more.
